Six Thinking Hats

In the Six Thinking Hats exercise a parter and I discuss my project through the lense of the Six Thinking Hats worksheet, analyzing my project with six different perspectives. These perspecitve were based on Information, Emotion, Judgment, Optimism, Creativity, and Management. I did this exercise with a partner and a friend and these were the results from both.

White Hat: Information

The White Hat is a basic analysis of the information we have and the information that we need. The information that I have is the basic information regarding content and structure. The information that I do not have is some of the formatting problems that will likely be solved in class.

Red Hat: Emotion

The Red Hat deals with emotion, and asks what you are feeling about the project. In the exercise some of the opinions I received were that the project looked cool, and that they felt like this kind of project for the card game I am creating would be well received.

Black Hat: Judgement

The Black Hat is based in Judgement, and trying to point out any flaws. The potential flaw that we found with my project is that I will likely need to create a fair number of cards to be able to display on the site, and that will take lots of time and energy. Since the card game is a passion project, it can often fall behind work and school.

Yellow Hat: Optimism

The Yellow Hat deals in Optimism, and trying to look for the best in each idea. Both of my partners in the exercise were very optimistic about my project, but my friend suggested the improvement of incorporating a digital playspace for the card game. It is an interesting idea, but probably won't work within the scope of this project.

Green Hat: Creativity

The Green Hat thinks outside of the box. It also helps deal with finding solutions to the problems brought up in the Black Hat section. The solution we came up with was creating a minimum number of cards created each week, so that I have a deadline to work towards but still have enough room to do my other projects.

Blue Hat: Management

The Blue Hat focuses on the overall picture and the steps needed to address all concerns. My goal for this project is to create a comprehensive guide to Skies Over Sanctum, the card game of my creation. The path to creating this will be broken down into smaller sections for ease of production.

Final Notes:

I do not believe that this exercise has altered my project, both partners were very supportive of the project and couldn't think of any alterations at this stage. However, the process of this project has altered slightly, in that I will need to properly schedule out my time to create the necessary content.
